Partnership Changes in Rwanda
Anastase and his many years with us
In recent months, one of The Goboka Rwanda Trust's
most valued partners, Anastase Rugirangoga has retired
from his position as Executive Director of PHARP Rwanda,
following a period of ill-health. Anastase's position
involved him travelling extensively throughout Rwanda,
and this is now impacting on him, and he felt it an
appropriate time to hand over to a successor.

Since its inception, Anastase has partnered The Goboka
Rwanda Trust. Heather met Anastase on her first visit to
Rwanda in 2008 and says that witnessing how the people
he worked to help, loved and respected him, gave her the
incentive to invite him to be a partner, and his help and
advise has been invaluable since, and the Trust hope that
despite his retirement he will maintain a close relationship
and friendship with Goboka.

A certificate of appreciation was prepared, sent out to
Anastase and presented to him in Rwanda as a token of
our appreciation.

Gilbert Muhire - our new partner
When Tony and Heather visited Rwanda in September 2024, they met Gilbert Muhire and his family, and at that point he was still thinking about whether this post with PHARP would be the way forward for him.
However, he says his commitment to helping the poorer communities in Rwanda, and the example set by Anastase who he has known for many years, persuaded him to take up the offer. Goboka are delighted to welcome him and invited him to introduce himself to our supporters. This is what he has to say, and we very much look forward to working with Gilbert.
