Changing Lives in Rwanda:
Sewing a Brighter Future
Thanks to your support, two young women in Rwanda have completed their training and received sewing machines to help them build independent futures. Their personal testimonies reflect the life-changing impact of this opportunity and the confidence it has given them moving forward.
From the heart of Uwamahoro beatrice (21 years):
"I'm from the Southern Province (Rukambura), at the end of my one-year sewing training, PHARP-Rwanda
supported me with a brand-new sewing machine,
which I am now using to start my own business and
improve my livelihood. After receiving the machine,
I purchased fabrics and opened my own small shop.
Currently, I am actively running my sewing business.

I trust that God will guide me throughout this journey.
I dream of establishing a larger sewing workshop
where I can employ more than 20 vulnerable young
girls and help them prepare for a better future.

I am very grateful to PHARP-Rwanda for
encouraging me, especially at a time when I was
considering dropping out due to the hardships I was facing."

From the heart of Izabayo pauline (24 years):
"I am from Southern Province (Rukambura). I received
a sewing machine from PHARP-Rwanda, which I am
using to run my own business. Through this work, I
have been able to invest in small livestock trading,
where I buy and sell domestic animals as an
additional source of income.

I continue to use my sewing machine while also
managing a small commodity trading business.
Through these efforts, I am able to support my family
by providing food and meeting our basic needs.

I have also contributed to my brother's education; he
recently graduated with an undergraduate degree in
Food Science and has now secured a job. In addition,
I am supporting my sister, who is completing her
secondary education in the science."
