Gifts to Gisovu High School

"Dear Heather,

​

Thanks to the recent gift from The Goboka Rwanda Trust, I visited Gisovu High School staff and students to share with them your message and donate on behalf of the Trust the photocopier, and sanitary pads which had been purchased for use by girls at the school.

​

My message cannot describe the joy, satisfaction and emotions of 154 girls hearing your message and receiving the sanitary pads. I personally was touched by their smiles, gestures and emotions of gratitude.

​

I also met the school teaching and administrative staff. The school administrator told me how helpful the photocopier will be in their school as the old one failed to work despite trying to replace internal parts. In short, they are now free from maintenance expenses, and the teachers told me of the challenges they had had in trying to produce multiple test copies for students without a machine being available. It had meant a 60 kilometer round trip to use another machine. 

 

They thank you so much for your generous offer, and told me that they very much look forward to the day when you can be available to visit them so that they may all thank you face-to-face.

 

We send pictures and a video of our day together.

 

We shall shortly distribute more sanitary pads to the ladies attending some of our sewing schools. These make such a difference to the recipients,  and they smile with lots of joy.
