Shopping was also on the agenda in the last day. Here is just a selection of the goods made by girls in the sewing schools which we support. These - and many other similar items are sold at the monthly Cafe Rwanda held in the Court Room at Bakewell Town Hall. The next one is on Monday 18 Sept from 10am-3pm.

Very popular for Christmas gifts - but hurry - they sell very quickly!

Just before Christmas 2016 we gave 20 sheep to  Reconciliation Group in a very rural area to the north west of Kigali. That number is now 42 - so today we again celebrated as sheep were passed over.

Today we visited Jenda Primary/Secondary school - some 1,800 pupils in total who are benefiting from owning Castleton the cow - who looks a pretty fine specimen!

As you can see they are absolutely delighted with the gift and all gathered to greet us and say 'Murakose' - thank you!

From meeting the sheep we progressed further towards the border with Congo to the village of Jenda. Here several years ago we set up a sewing school - so went to meet this year's graduates.

The last couple of days have been spent in the Northern Province - gorilla country!

Up here we visited first receivers of lambs from the sheep which were purchased with funds from our Cumbrian friends who formed part of our 2016 group visit. 20 sheep were given here and 45 lambs have been produced to be passed on

Today's surprise came at the Official Opening of Kaburiro Health Post. Phil Bramhall (fellow Trustee) and I were presented with a very special outfit and invited to be 'Mother of the Village' - I felt a nit but looked like the Queen!

This is the bull calf which is to be sold (it is the first born of the cow given to the school by Old Hall Primary school 3 years ago. The cow and the second calf are kept at the school where during the day they freely graze the large school playing fields.
